Ensure the engine is turned off and cooled down. Drain the old oil completely before removing the old filter.
Apply a thin layer of clean oil to the gasket of the new filter for proper sealing. Install the filter by hand until snug, then tighten an additional ¾ turn.
Refill the engine with clean oil, start the engine, and check for leaks. Confirm oil pressure readings are within the normal range.
